A Quasi-Z-source Integrated Multi-port PowerConverter with Reduced Capacitance for SwitchedReluctance Motor Drives - 2016 PROJECT TITLE : A Quasi-Z-source Integrated Multi-port PowerConverter with Reduced Capacitance for SwitchedReluctance Motor Drives - 2016 ABSTRACT: This paper presents a quasi Z-source integrated multiport converter (ZIMPC) for switched reluctance motor (SRM) drives to cut back the dc link capacitance. In standard SRM drives, employing multi-phase asymmetrical H-bridge (ASHB) topology, giant capacitors are necessary to absorb the transient energy throughout section current commutation. However, electrolytic capacitors would have an effect on the lifetime, value and power density of the drive system. With switch multiplexing technique, a Z-supply integrated multiport power converter springs to realize power ripple reduction using comparatively little capacitance. Corresponding management methodology is intended and developed for the proposed SRM drive. Additionally, the ZIMPC will boost the equivalent part exciting voltage and widen the constant power speed range (CPSR). At last, simulation and experimental results verify the feasibility of the proposed ZIMPC and its superior performance with smaller capacitance as compared with ASHB.
